[A weekend of lost memories - it sat poorly with her, especially when she went back over her notes and found them missing as well. The dates for the weekend were written in her hand, but anything she'd written had been erased. Or maybe she hadn't written anything. The most concerning thing was that now that the weekend had ended, several people had gone missing or returned. Two days was a long time to lose her bearings and it made her restless. Which was why she'd gone to the shop to look around for anything useful.

Last thing she expected was to find the glove and eyeglass set - something so useful just left here like it was a new toy to be experimented with by anyone in the village. Something about it drew her to using it, but after the first day and the headaches, she realized it was probably something that belonged to someone. Which is why a few days later, after the headaches settle, she asks the village.]

Agent Carter reporting in with a few questions for the village.

One: Has anyone lost a pair of these? [She holds up the sunglasses, labeled ARI on the side to the camera.] I located them in the shop - interesting technology you have. I'd like to return them, if you're inclined to receive them.

[It packs one hell of a punch anyway, and she does not want that anymore. Peggy rubs her temple as he sets the glasses down out of view.]

Two: Sparring partners - hand to hand combat, preferably advanced non-magic practitioners. Willing to train people new to it, but more looking for practice myself. Can also train or spar in weapons - guns or knives specifically.

Three: On a more personal note, to my roommates - if you don't start cleaning your areas and picking up your things, I will do it for you.

[She looks straight into the camera with her usual no-nonsense look in her eyes.]

You will not enjoy it if I am forced to do so.

Perhaps that's why they brought us here - we were victorious and they hope to use our experience for their war.

But yes, you are right, Colonel. It's the life of the military personnel to go from one war to another.

As flattering as that may sound, if they truly valued our ability, we would be given true positions of power amongst their ranks. Of course, we also would have been granted more manpower to work with beyond the pacifists, civilians and children who are so prevalent within this village.

Perhaps it isn't the people of this village we're meant to be leading. I know I wouldn't be comfortable transforming this place into an army - but I've been sent on several missions to train those who wish to be.

Mm. Teaching has never quite been a fit for me. Regardless, why don't you tell me more about those missions? What sorts of conditions were there, and how much liberty did you have in your lessons?

They had a training regimen and a set goal to reach, but how they got there was up to us. Most of the recruits were green, to say the least, and while their enthusiasm made up for their lack of skill in some areas, it was fairly level to what you might expect from any military training camp. Not the best of conditions, but not the worst either.

I see. And I assume that, as with here, there were representatives from a wide diversity of species?

What I saw was mostly mostly humanoids or humans, but that doesn't mean there weren't others where I simply could not see.

Mm. It certainly sounds very standard. [And not particularly interesting to Jade.] I believe that's all I need to know.

Is that all it takes to stop your inquiries? Well, that's interesting.

Is that interesting? [He tweaks his glasses.] I presumed that most people conclude their inquiries once they've asked all that they intend to. I've heard everything that's relative to my curiosities, so there's no reason for me to press further. Unless of course you're lying, but even in that case it would be far too much effort than I feel like trying to pry the truth.

It is, yes. [This man is hiding things - he's asking questions, but no folllow-ups that would normally come with an inquiry like his. He either has the information he needs, was asking after someone specifically, or was just baiting her to see how much information she had.]

But I suppose if you haven't any interest in further information, then we've concluded what we had to say.

Are you sure that you don't wish to gratuitously converse any pleasantries?

I've never had much time for pleasantries, so no.

Ah, now that sounds like a true military personnel. I'm surprised you even had the time to manage that one sentence.

You should be happy I managed the sentence - normally I just shoot people.

I'm sure that your journal is more grateful than myself on that front.

You say that as if I wouldn't find you to shoot first. I wouldn't waste the bullets on a machine like the journal. Those are only for important people.
