[A weekend of lost memories - it sat poorly with her, especially when she went back over her notes and found them missing as well. The dates for the weekend were written in her hand, but anything she'd written had been erased. Or maybe she hadn't written anything. The most concerning thing was that now that the weekend had ended, several people had gone missing or returned. Two days was a long time to lose her bearings and it made her restless. Which was why she'd gone to the shop to look around for anything useful.

Last thing she expected was to find the glove and eyeglass set - something so useful just left here like it was a new toy to be experimented with by anyone in the village. Something about it drew her to using it, but after the first day and the headaches, she realized it was probably something that belonged to someone. Which is why a few days later, after the headaches settle, she asks the village.]

Agent Carter reporting in with a few questions for the village.

One: Has anyone lost a pair of these? [She holds up the sunglasses, labeled ARI on the side to the camera.] I located them in the shop - interesting technology you have. I'd like to return them, if you're inclined to receive them.

[It packs one hell of a punch anyway, and she does not want that anymore. Peggy rubs her temple as he sets the glasses down out of view.]

Two: Sparring partners - hand to hand combat, preferably advanced non-magic practitioners. Willing to train people new to it, but more looking for practice myself. Can also train or spar in weapons - guns or knives specifically.

Three: On a more personal note, to my roommates - if you don't start cleaning your areas and picking up your things, I will do it for you.

[She looks straight into the camera with her usual no-nonsense look in her eyes.]

You will not enjoy it if I am forced to do so.

For the first point? I'm afraid those glasses are simply not my smile. [He says with a smug push at his glasses.]

Perhaps I could be of value towards the second point. I happen to have experience in hand-to-hand, weapons, and an equivalent of magic. Perhaps these old bones of mine could use some practice.

As to the first point, it's been cleared and the owner found. [She raises an eyebrow even as she smiles back.] And yes, I think what you're wearing now is far more suitable. [And less likely to make you think the world around you is crazy, give you headaches, nosebleeds, etc. These glasses are cray, yo.]

If you're willing to do weapons practice in the Battle Dome, so would I. What is your weapon of choice?

We can all rest easily, in that case. [He says with a mock-relief.]

It's a type of spear. [He says, as he holds it up the camera.] And yourself?

[She moves the camera over to pan over the desk in her room - Walther PPK, long and short knives, and a pair of throwing axes displayed and in various stages of being cleaned and sharpened. She pulls the camera back.]

I like to be versatile. A spear though - that's uncommon. I take it has something to do with your 'equivalent of magic'?

My, that's quite the collection. [He says with a light-hearted amusement.] Do you intend to use them all at once?

Regardless, you may be right on the mark. It turns out to be quite useful at channeling fonic artes.

Not unless I need to.

[She raises an eyebrow.]

Fonic artes?

You don't say.

[He smirks.]

Those would be my so-called magic. I'll assume that you're not familiar with fonons. [No other world seems to be.]

Unfortunately not. I try to keep an ear to what is being said around the journals, but no one has exactly explained them where I can find. Perhaps you'd like to clarify?

Simply put, it's a type of particle that acts as a building block of all matter in the world of Auldrant. However, beyond our fonic artes, the concept does not seem to bear much relevance outside of our world.

So it's more science than magic - and your weapon allows you to manipulate these particles into a malleable form? Do these particles exist here?

It is certainly more scientific than it appears. My weapon is not necessary for manipulation: it's only helpful. And such particles do not seem to be properly existing in this or any world, beyond what we need to cast our artes.

So despite their absence, you're still able to draw upon them. Any theories as to why?

I've been working through with several theories. It seems plausible that a number of residual fonons are in the air related to the number of residents who have passed through from our world.

Then you're working with a finite number. Aren't you worried of them running out? Or is it something that can't, so long as one of your people are here?

Finite as it may seem, there's no signs of significant depletion. The latter may be the more likely.

[Interesting... So it's possible for parts of the other worlds to bleed into this one and stay. How much else have they changed simply by existing here?]

May I assume you are a scientist yourself? I haven't heard this sort of talk since I worked with one.

I'm a soldier first and foremost. [He says with a shrug.] But I do have experience in a wide variety of fields.

A soldier, hm? [Definitely not a grunt - not with his bearing.] Rank and name?

[And he recites formally.]

Agent Peggy Carter, British Royal Military, Intelligence Division.

The pleasure is all mine. Am I correct in assuming that you refer to Great Britain of Earth?

Yes, you would be correct. If you know anything of Earth's history, I come from just after the second Great War.

My, I have. It sounded like quite the conflict. [From what he's been able to learn via the library.] That would place you amongst the victorious Allied Forces, am I correct?

[Victorious - in a way, yes, but really? War had no victors, just people who had less dead at the end of it.]

It was and I was. Am. It's rather hard to count myself among them when I'm here.

[It's easier for Jade to see it from a cut-and-dry pragmatic standpoint: with the victors and the defeated.]

You've left one war to be tossed into another. [He says somewhat wryly.] I suppose that's just the life of a soldier. I had just witnessed the resolution of a conflict, myself, before I was brought here.
